Topcast visting COMAC headquarters to discuss strategic partnership and collaboration opportunities.

Led by Mike Graff and Orson Lo, the Warburg Pincus & Topcast team visited Mr. Zhang Xiaoguang, Chairman of COMAC Manufacturing, Mr. Pan Deng, President of COMAC Customer Service, and the senior leadership team at COMAC headquarters to discuss strategic partnership and collaboration opportunities.

COMAC’s leadership team shared C919 new passenger and cargo variant development plan where an extended version with seating up to 192 passengers is planned among many other variants.

For C929,
• The aircraft is currently in the DDR phase, with major Tier 1 systems finalized:
1. AECC CJ2000 for engines
2. SAFRAN for landing gear
3. Aviage Systems for avionics
• Certification is targeted for 2033, with the first flight planned for 2030
• First delivery is expected by 2035

Key areas for further collaboration include:
• Expand aftermarket spare support coverage for C909 & C919 domestically
• Enhance Topcast Shanghai repair shop capabilities to provide better turnaround time & service for COMAC and domestic operators
• Support COMAC’s customer service initiatives internationally in alignment with the Belt and Road strategy
