Michael Graff

Michael is a Global Senior Advisor at Warburg Pincus. Since joining the firm in 2003, he has been deeply involved in Warburg Pincus’s global investment activities across the aerospace and industrial sectors, and is a key strategic leader for the firm in the aviation space. 

Prior to joining Warburg Pincus, he served as President and Chief Operating Officer of Bombardier Aerospace, where he was responsible for the group’s global operations. Before that, he was a Partner at McKinsey & Company in New York, London and Pittsburgh. 

He currently holds core leadership roles at several leading global aviation companies, including: 

  • Topcast (APAC #1 independent aviation parts distribution and MRO services platform): Chairman 
  • Consolidated Precision Products (“CPP”, the No. 1 independent manufacturer of precision aerospace castings in the United States): Chairman 
  • TransDigm (a leading global manufacturer of aircraft components): former Chairman and current Director 

He played a pivotal role in Warburg Pincus’s investment in TransDigm, a leading global manufacturer of aircraft components. Since Warburg Pincus first invested in the company in 2003, he and his team have helped it complete more than 90 acquisitions and integrations, substantially expanding its scope of operations, and successfully led the company’s listing on the New York Stock Exchange in 2006. Today, TransDigm has a market capitalization of approximately US$80 billion and has become a key pillar of the global aviation supply chain. He is also a member of the Board of the National Psoriasis Foundation, EL Education, Day One Early Learning Community and Chair Emeritus of USA Water Polo.

 Qualifications

Michael received an AB in Economics from Harvard College and an MS from the Sloan School of Management at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
