General Manager USA & Head of Global Business Development

What you will be doing

  • Strategic creativity: in-depth knowledge of Topcast’s capabilities and value proposition to craft the optimal combination and value story of delivering a win-win solution to our partners, while agile at quickly developing expertise of the partner’s needs, organizational structure, commercial decision stakeholders, business process, objectives, KPIs, etc.
  • Tactical follow-through: Works with the cross-functional team and actively contributes to idea generation, milestone definitions, driving accountability, management of communications, and overall “program leadership” of new and selected strategic supplier relationship management and development.
  • Operational savvy: Responsibility does not stop at the deal close. Post-close, establishes periodic business reviews. Tracks and provides read-outs, surface challenges, and new opportunities as partners and Topcast get to know each other better.
  • Executive relationship maturity: externally, presence and maturity to foster relationship building with partners’ senior executives. Internally, able to balance well between being respectful to colleagues and the persistence required at times to get deliverables across the line on time.
  • Head of US office: Identify and recommend to management specific improvement objectives enabling Topcast USA to further develop and grow in the American distribution market.
  • Specific focus: Lead go-to-market effort with Product Management Team to ensure successful integration and launch of new product lines to hit top-and bottom-line growth target.
  • Specific focus: Foster and maintain high-quality and collaborative relationships with new and key existing suppliers to lock in reliable long-term product source(s) while optimizing the balance between sales, gross margin, inventory turn, quality and customer service level and meeting key business objective and strategic focus.
  • Specific focus: Act as the key partner to the Product Management Team to ensure strategic growth initiatives deliver targeted top-and bottom-line growth for new and selected strategic Product Lines (i.e., pricing strategies revamp, product line and repair service diversification and expansion, and cross-selling opportunities).
  • Specific focus: Provides leadership and accountability for the successful day-to-day operation of the Branch Office site, including but not limited to meeting company financial, efficiency and quality of service objectives, customer on time delivery commitments, and relationship management with both key external and internal stakeholders.
  • Specific focus: Provide leadership and program management direction to cross-functional team of experienced site team leaders to build strong teams and collaborative culture, improve and execute core business processes, and ensure site operations are prepared to meet current and future business objectives and requirements.

General housekeeping stuff

  • Keep the direct report informed of the status of agreed tasks and any critical problem areas.
  • Participate in optimizing Topcast’s business procedures by applying existing Topcast’s IT systems.
  • Comment/advise on unsatisfactory situations within the organization and propose potential solutions for improvements.
  • Identify and offer suggestions to improve efficiency.
  • Be well-informed about and familiar with the latest developments in Topcast’s business.
  • Have an inter-cultural understanding.
  • Participate in occupational safety and health efforts.
  • Contribute towards a positive and inspiring working environment.

Requirements  

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, Marketing, or a related field, with a focus on the aviation industry.
  • A minimum of 7 years of experience in business development within the aviation sector.
  • Strong strategic and analytical skills, with experience creating and implementing business plans.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders in the aviation sector.
  • Strong negotiation and closing skills, with experience leading complex negotiations.
  • Aviation background or experience in Aerospace is preferable.
